At our FRG Christmas party on Friday, MC and Will had another chance to sit in Santa’s lap.
It went a little better, but they’re still not big fans.
EA, on the other hand was more than ready and willing to cuddle up to St. Nick! She was the very first one in his lap and stayed very close by while everyone else had a turn.
I had to convince MC to stand in line (a much shorter one this time) to visit with Santa. She was very hesitant and only did it with me at her side. Will didn’t have too much of a choice in the matter as he was on my hip the whole time.
The pictures were taken at the party and printed there. We did this for all the families and then offered a craft where the kids could also decorate picture frames for them. Many of these, including ours, will be sent to deployed daddies.
On our way home after the party, MC and EA were talking to me about their visit with Santa.
MC:Â “Mommy, I cried again.”
Me:Â “I know you cried.”
MC:Â “Why did I do that?”
Me: “Honey, I don’t know why.”
Poor girl then says, “Now Santa won’t bring me a baby doll”.
I had to console her and let her know that Santa crying does not deter Santa from bringing good little girls their baby dolls. And she has been a very sweet, good little girl.
Next EA stated the very matter-of-factly, “My brother and sister still doesn’t like Santa. No they doesn’t. Just one kid does.”
And, that one kid would be her!

Too cute! My ten year-old still does not “trust” Santa! He is scared of Santa and clowns! LOL

Will still looks kinda hesitant about the whole thing. The pictures are better!
I have a friend who teaches her kids there is no Santa, I think that takes away from the magic of childhood. Kinda sad.
