How was your Labor Day weekend?
Mine was lovely, especially since it also coincided with my birthday.
Birthdays are so much fun with children.
My little ones have been anticipating my birthday much more that I have and were so excited to celebrate it with me.
My husband took the children out on Friday afternoon to pick out a birthday cake (I pretty much refuse to bake myself a cake for my birthday) and presents.
They did a fantastic job of picking out this polka-dotted cake from our local grocery store bakery.
After enjoying dinner and cake on Friday evening, the kids were super excited to reveal their presents!
They put them in hand-decorated brown paper bags. I love the super sweet pictures and notes they drew on them!
Weeks ago, my littlest two wrapped up some presents with the help of their big sisters and hid them behind Jenny’s bed. These presents were so simple, but overflowing with love.
My first present from these two was a collection of kleenex pictures.
And the second was a set of hangers decorated with markers and sentiments of “I love you!”. MC pointed out that these were special hangers that could hold a shirt and pants…score!
From my husband I received a Fuji Instax Mini Camera that I am absolutely in love with!!!
The tiny polaroid pictures that it takes are adorable!!
Jenny loves watching them develop.
On Saturday, which was my actual birthday, Keith and I took Will and Jenny to the El Paso zoo while EA and MC were at a friend’s birthday party.
Will is our little navigator! He studies the maps wherever we go and leads us around.
Our babysitter came over on Saturday evening so Keith and I could go out for a birthday date. We went to a popular Mexican restaurant, Carols and Mickey’s. There’s nothing better than authentic Mexican food!
