I had been going back and forth on how we should actually spend Halloween. Mainly because Will has had a cold and the weather here is turning very cold. I didn’t want him out in bad weather. Thursday some friends mentioned that they were going to meet up at the bowling alley and that sounded like a perfect solution. The kids were able to wear their costumes, have a great pizza dinner, bowl for the first time, and we even got in a tiny bit of Trick-or-Treating.
The girls were so excited to go…they took and early nap and were ready to go as soon as they woke up.
The girls have some older friends who were eager to help them bowl. Bumpers were set up for the kids and the bowling alley also had a contraption that looks like a ramp for younger kids to use. It lines up with the arrows on the lane and all they have to do is push the ball down the ramp.
My plan was just to come home and start getting the kids ready for bed when we left the bowling alley. But as we were driving down our street we saw tons of kids out walking from building to building, trick-or-treating. I parked the car and decided to let the girls give it a try. I put Will in his stroller and bundled him up really good. We walked down to the end of our building, turned around, and came back to our stairwell. They only got candy at two places, but it was enough for them.
I love the innoscence of little children. They were not upset at all that we didn’t go to every spot in the neighborhood, or the fact that they bags weren’t filled to the rim with candy. They were happy and completely excited with what they had.
When we got in, I let them pick out two pieces of their candy to enjoy before getting ready for bed.
MC picked out a sucker that took f-o-r-e-v-e-r for her to eat! There’s nothing like a good attempt to delay bed time.

I love the costumes, I couldn’t quite tell what Will was, though. He’s still cute!
My little one has a cold also. My older son went trick or treating, and he was old enough, or maybe spoiled enough to complain about not getting enough candy.

That was a great idea. It didn’t seem as cold as it has been recently. yay! Glad that you had fun!
