Remember when Keith and I went on a trip to Trier just a couple of weeks ago?
Well, while we were at the Dom Saint Peter Cathedral in Trier, we noticed advertisements for their concert series. Their next upcoming concert was Joseph Hayden’s The Creation.
After returning home from our trip, I nervously went onto the DOMmusik Trier’s website, which is totally in German, and placed orders for the two of us to attend this classical concert. I had to pick our seats and everything, hoping all the while that I didn’t make a mistake and that our tickets would really arrive at our German address that I never, ever actually use.
The tickets did arrive the day before we left for our trip to LegoLand.
Once those were in my hands, I was completely ecstatic about our date night to a classical concert!! I could not wait and immediately began to stress about what I would wear.
We ate at the McDonald’s in downtown Trier. Such a great restaurant for a date night, huh??
Seriously, we have really been impressed by the McDonald’s restaurants in Germany. They’re so much cleaner and more pleasant than the ones in the states.
This one is located in what was an old German hotel on the corner of one of the streets in the shopping district. And it was really close to the Dom Cathedral so we didn’t have far to walk to get to the concert.
We ate in their second floor and the view from our corner window seat was beautiful….we love the city of Trier!!
It was just six o’clock and all the shops and street market vendors were closing up business for the day.
After dinner, we walked around for a little bit before heading towards the cathedral.
It was fun to be able to mix among the German people and really integrate ourselves into the culture.
The concert was absolutely amazing.
I was speechless at sitting in this beautiful cathedral, the oldest in Germnay, listening to their choir, orchestra, and soloists perform Joseph Hyden’s vision of the creation story.

You look beautiful and the concert looks absolutely amazing! Are they continuing with the concert series throughout the summer? Hmmm, I’m going to have to check that out soon. I can’t wait to see you guys!
