Hello, friends!
I hope that you’ve had a fantastic week!! It seems as if each week is so much the same these days that is it challenging to find things to put in a weekly update, but I’m giving it my best. So, here we go!
//one// Currently Reading
I am currently reading A Promised Land by Barack Obama (hardback), and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot (audio). I also have an ARC of Nobody, Somebody, Anybody by Kelly McClorey from NetGalley that I haven’t started yet, but will be reading on my Kindle.
I’m about half-way through my reading of A Promised Land. It is interesting to see the inner workings of his campaign and early days of the presidency.
I don’t get as much time to listen to audiobooks as I would like. I’m about half-way through The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks as well with about 5 hours left. It is a fascinating story that examines modern medicine, bioethics and race relations.
//two// Christmas Movies
Starting last week, we decided that we’ll be watching Christmas movies during our regular Friday night movie time. We typically take turns picking movies each week, but for the weeks leading up to Christmas we’ll be selecting our favorite Christmas movies.
I started us off with Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors. Last week EA chose the 1986 version of A Christmas Carol that we had on DVD and this week MC has chosen the classic It’s a Wonderful Life.
//three// Currently Watching
Keith and I just started watching Dead to Me on Netflix for our date night show after finishing the last season of Killing Eve.
The only other time that I regularly watch anything is when I walk on the treadmill. I am currently making my way through the fourth and latest season of The Crown and finding myself increasingly agitated with Prince Charles and the entire royal family. I hear there’s some drama surrounding the show and I can see why.
//four// Christmas Craving for Fudge
I am currently craving this Easy 3 Ingredient Fudge from A Beautiful Mess. I make it every year around Christmas time. It is incredibly easy to make and so very delicious!!!
//five// Go Clean Co
Go Clean Co is one of my favorite Instagram follows of this year!! They are a cleaning company based in Canada and they have the absolute best cleaning advice, tips and tricks! AND it’s all so simple, they basically use water, powdered tide and bleach for everything! It’s quite satisfying and fun to watch their before and afters as they are cleaning on their instagram stories.
