Happy Friday, friends!!
This week (yesterday, in fact) I celebrated my 46th birthday! As I get older, my birthday doesn’t “feel” as special, but there is still an expectation that it should be. I am finding more and more ways to celebrate in small ways that make me feel special.
Today I am going to focus on five things that helped to make my birthday special for me.
//one// Blue Moon Walk
My daily walks have become an important part of my morning routine. I love getting outside to walk as the sun is rising in the morning. I also love this time to myself to listen to an audiobook or podcast. There was actually a super blue moon on the night of August 30 that was visible in the sky on my walk yesterday morning. I loved watching this big blue moon in the morning sky!
//two// Taylor Tickets
My daughter texted me about Taylor Swift’s announcement that her Eras Tour Concert would be showing in AMC theaters in October. I came in and immediately logged into my AMC account to purchase tickets for myself and my three girls to attend this event together.
I’m not the biggest Swiftie, but my girls are and they were super excited about going to this event! We are planning to dress up and make it a really fun night out–I can’t wait!!
//three// Birthday Breakfast
After dropping MC off at school yesterday morning, I took advantage of my FREE birthday drink from Starbucks and ordered a breakfast treat to go along with it. BONUS–the fall menu is out and the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is a favorite!! I ordered that along with a pumpkin cream cheese muffin–I enjoyed picking this up in the drive-thru and bringing it home for a nice quiet breakfast! It was absolutely delightful!
//four// Puzzles
There are two things that I am really into right now and make it onto every gift wish list that I make–books and puzzles! I received three new puzzles for my birthday that I am so excited to work on. I started on the “City Lights” puzzle that my kids gifted me yesterday afternoon.
//five// Reading
I spent every free second I had yesterday (outside of beginning my new puzzle) reading and finishing Happiness Falls by Angie Kim. This book was so good!! I also love the satisfaction of finishing a current book on the last day of the month so I can start a new one on the first of the next month. This was a really good novel full of intrigue and so many ideas to ponder and a huge mystery to solve. I loved it and my reading experience with it!!
Now, I feel special and celebrated and ready to have a fantastic 46th year of life!
