EA had another day of not napping. She has napped pretty well for the last couple of weeks and she did try today. She came walking out of my room where she was supposed to be napping after about fifteen minutes. At least she did rest a little bit.She did very well with just playing quietly in the living room while I did some things on the computer (important things like reading e-mail and all of my favorite blogs).
Then she came in with clothes she took out of the washer. For some reason, our front load washer is located on the bottom with the dryer sitting on top of it. Isn’t it usually the other way around?? The clothes had finished washing and she took some WET clothes out and brought them to me.
I know how to take a hint…so, I went into the kitchen (aka laundry room) and started doing some laundry.
EA asked to help and I was more than happy to grant her request.
We folded clothes from the dryer. Bless her heart…she can’t fold socks, but she sure tried her best!
We moved the newly clean clothes from the washer to the dryer. EA even pulled up a stool so she could reach better.
Then EA went to my room to put my dirty laundry in a basket and brought them into the kitchen (aka laundry room).
She announced that she wanted to do it “all by herself” and she did. Just see for youself…
Hurray for a job well done!!!
Getting your kids involved with the housework helps a bit and even makes it more enjoyable. How do your children participate in the chores around your home?

You all just saw my son sitting on the stool doing dishes for Wordless Wednesday!lol He helps me vacuum, take out the trash and such, but my son is 10 so he’s past the stage of liking it!!

My three year old like helping if and when it’s convenient for him. Though we just got him his own vacuum cleaner which he loves dearly!!! It was twenty buck at wal-mart and it’s a dirt devil that converts 3 different ways…I will post a picture..It was the same price as the toy in the toy section and it is better made..So why Not!

This was so wonderful! Don’t worry about the nap thing because I took a nap for her today! 🙂

loading the dishwasher, putting the silverware away and setting the table – all things they are getting pretty good at – but I haven’t gotten photos like that before. I’m afraid our naps are abou to go away too – :crying here:

At first, I didn’t want the girls to help me because it generally meant that I had to find a time to sneak back and do whatever over again. Now I just don’t care. We put on good music, dance sing, and have a blast while we dust, do dishes, and fold lanudry. I don’t remember ever doing chores WITH my mother. I hope we have so much fun that they don’t dread the chores when they get older like I do now.

Dishes, laundry, mowing, dusting, bathrooms… but then they are older! 🙂
What a great little helper she is!!

great pictures, you can see the joy in her face as she helps, and is important enough to do “real” work! Kids need this and so often it is just easier to do it ourselves. I applaud all of you who are training little hands to make easier work for you and eventually for them!
