One thing that I want to instill in all of my children is a love of reading.
I want them to enjoy books and the wonderful stories that they contain.
The best way to do this is to make books and reading them an important part of your home.
Make books readily available for your children to look at, browse through, chew on (if they’re babies), and read.
Have reading times set aside for even your youngest children.
It’s perfectly okay that they can’t “read”.
They can certainly turn the pages and look at the colorful and engaging pictures.
Read to your children.
This is one thing that I will almost always stop what I’m doing for.
This time is priceless and so important in setting the foundation for a lifelong enjoyment of reading.
And remember to let your children see you enjoy books yourself.
Jenny loves going through the baskets of board books that I have around our home.
And I delight in seeing her get excited over these books!

Adorable pictures and so true about books. I love seeing my little ones sitting with a book and “reading” (not) it to each other. So cute!

I love to read, and it’s one of the things I hope to instill in my kiddo too. We read together, and I read my own books. I always make sure she has access to books, and she gets new books for almost every holiday. I think if you enjoy reading your kids are much more likely to enjoy reading as well.
