We went to our HHB 11th ADA BDE (that’s a lot of letter, I know!) Christmas Party on Friday evening and had the best time!
It was held at the Centennial Club at Fort Bliss and we had a very nice sit down buffet dinner.
But forget about the food…the highlight of the evening for the kids was that Santa showed up to hand out some pre-Christmas gifts.
Will’s entire face lit up as soon as he saw Santa walk into the room!
This is HIS YEAR for believing in Santa. He’s so excited to write his letter to Santa and for me to put it in the mail for him.
Seven has to be my favorite year for having a little boy, for I have fallen for this little boy of mine this year.
After Santa got settled in his chair by the Christmas tree, all of the kids lined up for their turn to talk to him.
EA has always been a fan of talking to Santa.
He had a small gift to pass out to each of the children present.
MC and EA were thrilled with the scrapbook type journals they received.
MC has always been a little more standoffish with Santa.
Then it was Will’s turn and y’all, I was so proud of him!
He is normally very reserved and shy around new people and I honestly didn’t know if he was going to be brave enough to talk to Santa, but his excitement and belief won out.
Here he is whispering to Santa what he wants this year.
These are such precious pictures to me!
Will received a package of Army men from Santa and he spent all of Saturday morning playing with them.
His Army men fought a war with all of his “bad guy” toys…a war that included commercial breaks! 🙂
And then it was Jenny’s turn.
As you can tell, she was not a fan.
She clung to my leg so tightly!
Santa gave her a package of 1000 stickers.
As soon as we walked away, Jenny burst into tears.
It wasn’t until we were on our way home from the party that she revealed the reason for her outburst.
At last year’s party, she received Play-doh from Santa and was expecting the same this year.
The stickers just did not meet her expectations.
We were able to take a family photo before leaving the party and heading home for a quiet weekend.
This upcoming week is going to be the busiest of the Christmas season for us, with events to attend every day. But, after this week, we’ll enjoy a much more relaxing schedule.
Have you attended many parties this holiday season?
