As the year is coming to an end, I find myself striving to be more organized for next year.
The biggest, easiest way to incorporate organization into your weekly routine is to plan out your meals for the week.
I’ve been doing this since my husband and I got married…some weeks are a little more loosely planned than others…but most weeks have a plan or they fall apart.
Here’s our menu plan for this week…
Monday – Chicken Tacos (which may turn into quesadillas); Restaurant Style Mexican Rice; Tortilla Chips
Tuesday – Vegetable Beef Soup; Cornbread muffins
Wednesday – Baked Pork Chops; Macaroni & Cheese; Steamed Veggies
Thursday – Pinto Beans & Rice
Friday – Baked Fish; Steamed Veggies; Boiled Potatoes
Saturday is my grocery day and that’s also the day when I plan out meals for the next week before hitting my local Albertson’s. Our weekends tend to be a little more loosely planned as well.
You’ll notice that Thursday is a simple meal of pinto beans and rice. In an effort to simplify and to help cut grocery costs, we’re having one meal of beans and rice each week.
Also, most weeks we usually have a Tex-mex type of meal (because that’s my favorite!) and some type of fish meal because I have a ton of fish in the freezer from grocery sales and it’s healthy. In the fall and winter, we usually have one soup meal a week as well.
Having these skeleton plans in place help greatly in planning my menu out each week!
