We had a wonderful time at the St. Barbara’s Day Ball on Friday evening.
One of the great things about moving so often as an Army spouse is that I don’t have to buy a new ball gown for every formal event we attend.
I purchased the dress I wore on Friday night over four years ago when we were in Germany.
I’ve only worn it one other time and I was excited to wear it again…I’m really loving gold as a Christmas color this year.
Here’s a full length view of my handsome husband and I.
My husband recently got a new “dress mess” formal uniform and he looked so very dashing in it!
I was so proud to be at my husband’s side at the Ball.
He received the Order of Saint Barbara medal before the formal portion of the evening began.
As we were telling our children yesterday that he got an award at the ball, they wanted to know what he got the award for.
In an attempt to explain in simple terms that they would understand, I said it was for being a “good” Army person.
My daughter piped up and said, “He’s a great Army person! They should have given him a trophy!!”
I was a little worried about leaving Will since he had been sick all. day. long., but I am so very thankful for our babysitter who is a nursing student at the University of Texas – El Paso. I left feeling like he was in very capable hands…and he was.
Oh, and the shoes…they were AWFUL! After becoming a homeschool mom and wearing the most comfortable shoes available every day of my life, I am just not cut out for those kind of heels! They came off of my poor feet as soon as I could get away with it!…Actually they came off sooner than that and I risked humiliation because I am a complete and total wimp.
