For this layout, I used another portfolio challenge from Sweet Shoppe Designs.
This was a quote inspiration challenge to use the quote from Neil Armstrong, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind” spoken on July 18, 1969.
Upon seeing this quote, I immediately thought of Jenny taking her first steps. Well, she actually hasn’t taken her first steps on her own, but she has been doing lots of walking with me, her daddy, and her brother and sisters.
The most special of all is her walking with her daddy. As you can see in the journaling this is so special because she is the first of our children that my husband has been here to help learn to talk and see take their first steps.
Because of deployments to Iraq, he wasn’t able to be there when our other children were learning to take their first steps.
For this layout I used: MSA Celebration collab (template) – Biograffiti
Anything You Can Do – Eva Kipler
Fonts – Eight Fifteen & Century Gothic

I did edit the original photo a bit to make it look a little faded and the colors a bit muted to match the kit.
I’m starting to get questions about Jenny not walking yet. She’ll be fourteen months at the end of this month.
I’m not worried at all.
She’s just not terribly interested in heading out on her own just yet. And that’s a-okay by me because I know that when she is interested, they’ll be no stopping her!

Nathan walked around 13 months. However, Rachel, did not sit up until 8 months, crawl until 13 months, and she didn’t start walking in any way until she was 20 months old. Her little ankles were “floppy”– they just bowed out when she put weight on them. around 15 months we went to our family physcian, got a recomendation for a developmental pediatrician– who found nothing wrong with her. She still wasn’t standing without support, cruising much at all or walking at 18 months, so we got an expidited (sp?) appointment at the Shriners Children’s hospital in Greenville. They did x-rays, etc. I was so humbled there– the halls were filled with babies with CP, lost limbs, deformaties, etc. And here I was, there with my roly-poly STUBORN girl– who, when the Dr. walked into the examine room, She let go of what she was holding onto and bent down to get a toy and stood back up without support. I looked at the Dr and said “I swear that’s the first time she’s done that”. Of course, they found nothing at all wrong with her legs.
So, we saw several specialists and prayed for her to walk– when it turns out she was just taking her own sweet time reaching a milestone. 🙂
ALL that rambling to say– you are right– Jenny will get it done in her own sweet time. 🙂
