I am actually making progress on catching up on this year’s Project Life layouts! I was able to get weeks three and four completed this week. Over the weekend, I plan to catch up completely and I am so looking forward to that!

And, as promised, here’s a vlog look at my completed Project Life 2012 album…yay!!!
Project Life was the topic of last week’s DigiShow podcast. I just finished listening to it this morning and loved hearing everyone’s perspective. The thing I came away with was knowing that it’s so important to do what works for you in documenting your memories and your family’s story and not attempt to do what everyone else is doing. I would really encourage you to catch this episode of the DigiShow if you’re not already a subscriber.
This is an important lesson that I am learning more and more on my scrapbooking journey!

There is a total balance between getting inspired by others vs feeling pressure to keep up or do as beautiful as others. I’ve also found it takes me a while to find what works for me. Your pages are lovely. How fun that your daughter is practicing with an old typewriter. My son found one this weekend at a friends’ house and now we are on the hunt for one for him!
Monica says
It does take a while to find exactly what it is that works for me.
My husband found the typewriter when we we moving. It was his mom’s typewriter. We had just watched the American Girl Kit movie. My daughter loves pulling it out and typing on it.

I love being inspired, but also need to keep in mind my limits/time! Your pages are lovely, TFS! I just bought that Sweet Shoppe kit too, so fun!
Monica says
It is a great kit! I got it in the DigiFiles last month.

I think I definitely need to listen to that episode of The Daily digi. Your page is this week are super cute.I just started using colorful backgrounds this week and so far I really like it.I don’t do any scrapbooking besides project life so using a colored background actually give me a chance to use my supplies lol.
Monica says
I have found that I really like using patterned papers for my background and solid colors for journaling cards. Way to go on using up those supplies!!

I have similar thoughts… learning what works for you is really what matters, not what everyone else is doing. Even the pace of doing your pages. Some people are really faithful about having them all done right up to the week before. But for me it works better if I wait and do two or three weeks at once.
Love the brightness of your background papers. Super fun!
Monica says
That is so true. That’s great that you’re finding what works for you as far as your pacing and doing several weeks at one time!

These layouts are great! I love the papers you used as backgrounds!
