For my birthday I received a Bamboo Graphic Tablet. I was so excited to get this and the possibilities it’s going to add to my scrapbooking. I’m just beginning to learn to use it, so I can’t show off a whole lot right now.
I spent Monday afternoon scrapbooking. I really wish I had more time for this hobby. It is such a creative outlet for me. I enjoy it more than anything else, but life is just busy right now.
Really the only thing I used the graphic tablet for in this layout was to add the lines under the journaling. Not much, and I’m not terribly impressed with that, but as I said, I’m learning….
The journaling in the layout is so true. It does make my heart so proud to see my three little ones honor our nation’s flag and anthem. They have been to so many ceremonies, espeically right after their daddy came home that it has truly become a part of our lives.
Last week before bedtime we really needed to settle the kids down a bit to start winding down their day. Keith pulled out a DVD of a church worship service. I’m assuming that it was either a Memorial Day or maybe 4th of July special service, but I’m really not sure. The kids loved watching this!
They sang right along with the choir. That’s where my Wordles Wednesday shot of the girls singing, using a Clifford book as a hymnal came from.
And then when the service featured soldiers in uniform and the national anthem with the flag waving, they all automatically stood and saluted.
I am so glad that patriotism has become a real part of our lives. I wonder if it would be the same if we weren’t a part of the Army….if I wasn’t the wife of an Army Chaplain and the mother of Army Brats.
I am so thankful for a husband that has willingly accepted the call to serve in the military as a Chaplain. Because of his service, we all have a greater respect for our country and the sacrifices of so many soldiers that are giving of their lives so that we may all enjoy freedom.

It must make their Daddy’s heart swell with pride also to see them so readily and eagerly salute the flag. You guys are such an inspiration and I do, truly thank all 5 of you for the sacrifices you make for us. I try hard to teach my kids to honor and respect and show gratitude to our soldiers and our flag.
