Happy Saturday!!
Today I am sharing a scrapbook layout I created for the May Random Challenge at The Lilypad. Every month, The Lilypad offers eight challenges for the community to participate in and earn a store discount.
I have committed to participating in these challenges as often as I can. These challenges are fun and they always provide inspiration and motivation when I need it to get my creativity moving.
Simple Pleasures
This layout is also a scraplift of the layout titled Family Fun by Terhi Koskinen. I originally saw it on Scrapbook.com’s instagram feed and saved it to use as inspiration.
The May Random challenge was to use a small passport sized photo on a layout to “go big” and create impact on the page.
I used papers and elements from three different kits, all offered for May’s BYOC collection at The Lilypad.
The photo I used is one that MC took of EA when they went on a photo shoot together last spring. It was taken in the Japanese Garden across the street from our home on Fort Bliss.
I started this layout by layering lots of hexagon shapes in a semi-circle pattern. Then I clipped patterned papers to this and added drop shadows. I cropped the photo of my daughter to a 2×3 inch size and placed it on the right side nested in the hexagon shapes. Then I embellished with flowers, string, and foilage. I added paint with a bevel effect on top of the white solid colored background paper. I ended with selecting word art for the title and placing the date in a small area above the paint.
