MC is so much like me, it is scary.
Sometimes I look deep into her eyes and I see myself.
Her personality is so much like mine that I usually feel like I know exactly why she does most of what she does. She’s a naturally obedient child. She wants to please so badly. But she also is a bit of a drama queen. She likes attention and lots of it. She is hilariously funny when you know her intimately, but in a crowd, she is shy and reserved. She loves to laugh and enjoys life to it’s fullest!
Those are all personality traits though and, for the most part, they are a part of who she is and they’re unintentional ways that we are similar.
The thing about MC is that she is also intentional in the ways in which she is like her mama.
She studies me. She studies the way I talk. And she doesn’t miss a thing.
She has picked up on almost all of my bad habits.
The most recent one she’s picked up on is twhirling her hair when she’s bored.
I noticed this after dinner last night.
We were chatting after we finished eating and I looked over and saw MC twisting her hair around and around her fingers.
She caught me watching and said, “Mommy, you do this!!!”
While I am quite flattered that she wants to imulate me, it is also a bit frightening.
And humbling.
No Name, Please says
Oh, isn’t she darling? You are very lucky to have such a sweet girl. I just love to see her and EA AND Will AND you AND Uncle Keith.
Your Niece who misses you all.
