Life has been exceptionally busy around here, but I want to hit pause for a second and wish my husband a Happy Sweet Sixteen Anniversary today.
Our anniversary is smack dab in the middle of birthday, graduation and PCS season.
I feel like this anniversary is an extra special one…we’re celebrating our sweet sixteen! We’ve weathered so many storms over the last sixteen years. We’ve moved, changed jobs, survived deployments, and created a family.
I feel like this anniversary is a really important one.
This past year was one of our hardest. We had a tough move to Fort Leavenworth last summer and our time here contained many struggles for us both as a couple, but also individually (at least for me).
And we’re coming upon another year of separation as Keith heads off to Korea for a year.
The military life is not for the faint of heart, but I honestly believe it is a life that we have been called to. And it has made us so much stronger.
I am enormously proud of my husband and the job he does ministering to soldiers as a chaplain in the Army.
I am honored to stand by his side and support him.
I am proud of the father he is to our children. He is constantly finding ways to connect with each one of them.
I am humbled and grateful for the way that he loves me with all of my shortcomings and failures.
He loves me when I don’t feel one bit lovable.
He encourages me when I am discouraged and doubting myself.
He supports me and my dreams continuously.
He tells me I’m beautiful.
I am so thankful for our marriage and the way God has knit our hearts together.
Happy Sweet Sixteen Anniversary, Keith…I love you!

Being a military spouse is not for the faint of heart. You are an inspiration to all who read your blog. I pray this year goes by fast, and you will grow more in trusting Him. Thanks for all you do. As my husband just retired in March from the Navy, I know how hard separations are for all involved, but I also know how sweet the reunions are. Happy Anniversary!! A chaplain baptized by oldest in the Ocean while we were stationed in Guam. Thanks for the service you provide for the families. Chaplains are a great resource for our military families.

So happy you share all the joys and hard ships of military life, raising families and marriage. Best wishes to you.
