We had a fun weekend starting with a trip to see Amelia Earhart’s birthplace in Atchison, Kansas on Friday afternoon and ending with lunch at Johnny’s Bar-B-Q, a restaurant which has been featured in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on Food Network!
This is how Cupcake asks for water. She actually had water in her bowl when I took this shot, but she likes to drink straight from the tap. She’s a little spoiled.
We enjoyed walking through Amelia Earhart’s birthplace home. I loved looking at the newspaper clippings from the time of her plane going down. It was also neat to see letters that have been written to her from women pilots who have been inspired by her to pursue their dreams.
We went into a home decorating store in downtown Atchison called Nell Hill’s. Keith decided to take Will and Jenny outside soon after taking this frightening shot of Will surrounded by glass.
Keith found a super cute patio set for our backyard from a thrift store in downtown Atchison. We’ve been looking for something just like this since setting up our home here.
We spent Saturday morning walking through City Market, a huge farmer’s market in downtown KC. We also visited a large antique mall while we were downtown.
Will spotted this chair in the antique mall and claimed it has his “throne”.
We had a delicious lunch at Johnny’s Bar-B-Q after church yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon Keith and I upgraded our computers to Windows 10. We’ve been looking forward to this upgrade and I’m happy to report that everything upgraded without a single hitch. Whew!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun and memorable?
