We had a fantastic long weekend that began with a Valentine’s Day date for Keith and I and ended with a relaxing President’s Day at home.
Keith and I went out to eat at a favorite Mexican restaurant in downtown Kansas City on Friday evening. We had a really nice time just being together and enjoying quiet, focused conversation.
We planned to do some shopping after dinner, but all of the shops closed super early. We did make it into the book store and I picked up the latest edition of Artful Blogging, my favorite magazine. I’m still pouring over it!
Keith and EA ran in the Sweetheart 5K on Saturday morning. It was a super cold morning, but EA was a trooper! I think she ran her best time yet and brought home a medal and a knit stocking.
The other kids and I had a quiet, restful morning while Keith and EA were running. Jenny worked on some crafts for Valentine’s Day.
Will was totally engrossed in watching the Poineer Woman’s show on the Food Network. It was a chocolate special and HE loves all things chocolate!
On Saturday afternoon Keith took the kids shopping and Will brought home roses for me! This is one of my favorite Valentine’s traditions for our family.
I am so incredibly blessed with thoughtful children. EA made me coffee as I was getting ready for church on Sunday morning.

My husband worshiping in church with us is something that I don’t ever want to take for granted.
