Miss Jenny decided to play sick last Wednesday and after everyone else in the family had already suffered through (or in the case of my husband was currently suffering through) the stomach virus I didn’t want to take any chances.
I was able to convince her to spend the afternoon on the couch, which was quite the accomplishment for me…she doesn’t like to sit still and in one spot for very long!
Eventually I called homeschool for my older kids off early and cuddled on the couch with my baby girl.
We watched Dora the Explorer…her favorite show.
We took pictures of ourselves. Each time I took a shot, Jenny asked to see it!
We gave lots of hugs and kisses.
This girl truly is the twinkle in my eye!
Really in the eyes of everyone in this family…she’s our baby and, unfortunately, I’m pretty sure she knows it!
I didn’t want to send her to her Puggles class at AWANA, even though I didn’t really think she was sick and she really wanted to go, but I also didn’t want to leave her home with my husband who was very sick himself.
So…my girl and I had a special date!
We had dinner and ice cream at McDonald’s followed by shopping at Target.
This was such an incredible day spent with Jenny!
Sometimes I feel bad because she doesn’t get as much focused attention from me. I’m busy with three other children and homeschooling them takes a lot of my time.
I think we both needed Wednesday together and I’m so glad that we had it!

Rachel stayed home from school sick today. While I wasn’t thrilled with a 3rd Dr. visit (and bill!) in 9 days, I did enjoy the time alone with her! When she and her brother were sick during Spring Break, we were all home together. It’s rare to get one-on-one time with two kids so close in age. We do everything together! Rachel and I had some sweet conversations today, along with snuggles, some of her favorite shows on TV (though I did draw the line at Caiou!!!) and even building a blanket tent in her bedroom. It was a good day with my girl!

Monica, it’s been so long since I’ve stopped by your site! Your kids are growing so big! Love this post about spending one on one time with kids, I’ve done that recently too and it’s so special! Hope you all are doing well!
