We had a busy, action packed morning, complete with an unexpected visit to the health clinic for health assessments. I called to make an appointment and they said they could see them today…that was a very rare offer I could not pass up.
The girls and Will were so well behaved at the clinic that this proud mama treated them to lunch at McDonald’s via the drive-through, of course. I am just not brave enough to take them inside by myself right now.
During their nap my friend, Jessica, came over. I’m not sure if the girls woke from their nap early or never napped at all. Whatever the case, they got up to visit with Jessica, too, and Will eventually joined us all.
As we were talking, Will reached up and grabbed the telephone from the end table and began holding it to the side of his head. At first I thought he was just playing around with a novel piece of equipment that he isn’t often allowed to have. Then we noticed that he was actually playing with it as if he were on the phone and trying to talk into it. Now, his talking was just grunts, but I was so surprised! This was his VERY FIRST time pretending to talk on the phone. I really don’t remember the girls imitating that until they were much older. Either he is on super genius baby or I talk on the phone more than I realized!!
I have noticed him imitating other behavior lately, too. Most recently, after his bath, when I am getting him dressed, he will try to brush his hair. It is SO CUTE!
As Jessica were talking, Elizabeth Anne asked for her box of crayons and she took them over to her easel. She asked Jessica, “You want me to make of a picture of you?” And then she proceeded to draw her VERY FIRST picture of a person, complete with a round head, eyes, nose, mouth, and stick body!! I think she asked Jessica about ten times, “Do you want a nose?” to which she replied, “Yes, I would like ONE very small pretty nose”.

You write so well. I love how you take the ordinary day stories and turn them into fun reads. Cute picture by the way

Aren’t they just amazing creatures? And we have been given the honor or raising them! God actually trusted me with two little people. Wow! I really needed that reminder today. Let’s just say that getting everone in the car tomorrow morning cannot come soon enough! 🙂
