Okay, here’s an update on my update: The class went really well! The guy that came from the public affairs office did more than I thought he would. I thought he would just come and tape a few minutes and leave. Well, he taped about the last 20-25 minutes of the class and then asked to do an interview of me and one of the spouses taking the class. I was not expecting to do an interview and really hope that I did okay with that since I was a little thrown. But I really do think it went well. One of the spouses was eager to volunteer to speak, she said that even though her daughter is very young (21 months) and some of it doesn’t really apply right now, she feels like she will have more confidence in her parenting when she starts approaching more discipline issues because of what she is learning.
I am very curious to see exactly what will be done with the “footage”.
The parenting class I’m teaching for our Task Force, based on the book “Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours” is going so well! Everyone, including myself, is learning a lot and we’re having some great discussions about discipline and parenting in general.
I think when we’re done, I’ll post the slides with my notes (they’re on powerpoint, so, I’ll have to figure out how to do that). All of my notes have been taken from the book, so if you’re really interested, you can check that out as well.
But I did want to let you all know about something that I am very excited about!
Someone from the public affairs office here is coming to tape a portion of the class to show on our information channel. It’s a great opportunity for our Task Force to showcase one way we have been offering support to families here.
Also, if you don’t mind (don’t know why you would) could you please pray that I don’t say anything stupid during the time that they’re taping.
Tomorrow we’ll be discussing “pulling the rug out” from our little “buzzards” with loving discipline. We’ll also be talking about why reward and punishment don’t work, while encouragement and discipline does wonders. Do you know the difference between those two?

How exciting!! I can’t wait to hear how the lesson goes!
I would love to see slides and notes after your class is done if you can post them! I wish we could be there to enjoy your class!
Love and Prayers,
Min

This is such a great opportunity for you. I think it is great the way you are serving and ministering to the ladies on our base. The more ou tal about the book and the class, the more I want to read it. This next chapter sounds excellent! I’m going to check mu church library for it.
I will pray for you today as you teach your lesson.

I meant your base, not ours… I am not on your base as you already know. 🙂
