We visited the pumpkin patch at the Weston Red Barn Farm this weekend with friend and had a great time! It was a beautiful fall day to be outside with perfect weather. We visited the country store, looked at farm animals, took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, picked pumpkins and had a great lunch before coming home to carve pumpkins.
This is a photo I took of the farm while we were waiting for the girls to go on pony rides.
We stopped in front of the country store for a little photo op.
The kids all had a fun time picking out just the right pumpkin. I tried to help Jenny pick out a small one, but she was adamant that she had to do it herself.
And then, of course, she struggled to carry it and still refused help because she has to do EVERYTHING on her own. She declared, “This is NOT too heavy for me!” But we finally convinced her to place it in a wheelbarrow and let the guys carry it to the car.
After lunch, we went back home to carve pumpkins. I am so thankful for friends who were there to help! So are my kids because without them, we would have have done this activity. Ha! It was definitely a first (and maybe only) activity for us.
The pumpkins are now lining the sidewalk in front of our house and will remain there until the squirrels destroy them. Which may not be very long at all.
We enjoyed getting out for the day and enjoying a fun fall activity!
