My husband ordered a Kindle for my birthday gift.
The biggest advantage of the Kindle is that I can read while holding and even feeding my baby.
We have been working on getting her to take naps in her crib and are actually making progress this week.
But last week, I was at the point of just resigning myself to holding her as she sleeps throughout the day.
Keith found an old Game Boy Advance of his in the attic while cleaning.
And I played some great games of Super Mario Brothers while holding Jenny.
This could definitely work while I wait on my Kindle to arrive!
I’m also making a list of books that I want to put on my Kindle. At the top of this list is…
Bringing Up Girls by James Dobson (I’ve been trying to read this for months…maybe with the Kindle I can actually make some progress on it)
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth
Take Three by Karen Kingsbury
The Reluctant Entertainer by Sandy Coughlin
Do you use a Kindle or another e-book reader? What are your thoughts on them?
Do you have suggestions for other good books I can look forward to reading?

monica,
i love my kindle. i am still working on my master’s degree, so i honestly dont do much “fun” reading right now. however, i take my kindle everywhere. i even put one of my textbooks on it last semester. that was the first book i didnt enjoy having on there. i love that i can take a whole library of books with me whereever i go and it even fits in my travel purses. enjoy! oh, and you look great by the way 🙂

Thanks Sheri! That’s great that you were able to put a textbook on your Kindle, although I’m sure it wasn’t the most fun. I’m looking forward to being able to travel with mine, too.

I didn’t even think about how much easier it would be to read a Kindle than a regular book when holding a baby. I got my Kindle in Jan and LOVE it. I love that you can sample books before you buy. If I hear of a good book I put it on my Kindle as a sample and then don’t have to pay for it until I am reading to read it, plus I remember good books people tell me about 🙂

I’m so excited for you!!! I LOVE my kindle. I blogged about it quite a while ago. Here’s a link to that: http://tanyadennisbookshelf.blogspot.com/2009/07/why-i-love-my-kindle.html
My favorite parts: light-weight travel, free samples and free books.
Yes, I said FREE BOOKS. Several publishers will release a free kindle version of the book for the first two weeks after the new title is released. Keep your eyes open for that! Follow your favorite authors on twitter or sign-up for publisher updates. I’ve gotten a TON of free books this way. LOVE IT.
