I didn’t realize until I opened twitter this morning that today is World Prematurity Day.
Prematurity awareness is an issue that it dear to my heart. My first babies, twin girls, were born at just 30 weeks gestation….too early for any baby to be born.
Their first days were frightening and as we rode the NICU roller-coaster.
We all survived those days through the prayers that were lifted up on our behalf, the hard work of the NICU doctors and nurses, and the help of the March of Dimes.
My girls have come so far from their first days of fighting for each and every breath.
They are thriving first graders who are incredible blessings to me and our entire family.
Looking back helps us to remember where we’ve come from and appreciate who we are today.
You can read more about EA and MC’s birth story here, here, and here.
In honor of World Prematurity Day, please take some time to visit the March of Dimes to find out what you can do to help.

So thankful for your precious and healthy girls! My son was born a little premature, at 37 weeks. He had immature lungs and had to spend 5 days in the NICU on oxygen. It broke my heart every time I would visit him, because he was by far the healthiest baby in the NICU. I am grateful for his health today!
