We often refer to the moment of our salvation as the time when we “found” the Lord.
This is really an inaccurate description of the wonderful work he has done for us.
It is Christ that found us.
He catches us and rescues us from our sin.
Jesus said in Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”
We don’t seek him.
He seeks us.
He saves us.
He rescues us from death.
He redeems us.
He gives us life everlasting.
It is His work, not our own.
In essence, He catches us, in His loving arms.
And, as as we walk this path, He catches us every time we fall.
When we’re lost in our sin, He will catch us.
And when we’re lost in life, in desperate need of comfort, of peace, of joy and contentment, He will catch us.
We can trust Him to catch us and hold us in His loving arms.

The topic this week was “Catch”.

Visiting from the Gypsy Mama. Love what you wrote!!! I wrote the other day about Jesus chasing me down. He does catch me. I think I should let Him catch me more often – need to get rid of more willfulness for that, I guess. Thank you for your timely reminder!

Such a wonderful reminder! I think we don’t give God enough credit if we forget that He is the one who found us. We could never have found Him on our own.
Visiting from Gypsy Mama, btw!

Enjoyed your post! I have just been learning in Bible study that He must do the initiating…your words confirm this message. When it’s coming at me from more than one place, I know God’s trying to get my attention!
