We had an awesome weekend filled with beginning our moving preparations, visiting Las Cruces and Hatch, New Mexico, and celebrating Mother’s Day.
Our weekend started with taking our cat, Cupcake, to the vet for an overall check-up and to be micro-chipped. This was a big task on our moving preparation list. Our upcoming move to Kansas will be our first time moving with a pet and we’re so excited about it, but also want to be very careful in taking precautions with her.
Cupcake did great with her visit. I thought she would be beyond stressed by all the poking and prodding, but she was playful when we got home and totally chilled out on the couch with us Friday night.
We went to the Farmer’s Market in downtown Las Cruces on Saturday morning. While there we stepped inside a used book store and had the best time browsing the books there.
We came home with some Star Trek books and a Little Women book for EA. In case you haven’t noticed before, we are a family of book nerds.
After leaving the farmer’s market, we headed to Hatch, New Mexico. Hatch is the world’s largest producer of green chilies and it was on our bucket list to eat at Sparky’s before leaving El Paso. Sparky’s is a really neat restaurant that is known for their green chili burgers.
If anyone follows my husband on instagram, you know that he loves McDonald’s, so it was so much fun for him to take a photo with a Ronald McDonald statue outside of Sparky’s.
We had such a fun day together exploring…guys, I love living my life with this guy!
We stopped on the way home and I took a picture of Keith in front of a rail station. Train watching is one of his many fun hobbies!
I had a great Mother’s Day yesterday!! I spent it doing some of my very favorite things…waking up next to my husband, having breakfast in bed prepared by my son, going to church, hanging out with my best friend, and having quiet time to read.
This boy wished me a “Happy Mother’s Day” so many times yesterday…it was so sweet and such a blessing to my heart!
So….tell me…how was your weekend?
I hope you had a Happy Mother’s Day and enjoyed wonderful some family time!
Oh, I also wanted to mention that tomorrow I am participating in Day in the Life with Ali Edwards. I’ll be taking pictures throughout the day to get a glimpse of that our everyday looks like right now. I’ll be using my DSLR and my iPhone and many of the phone pictures will be shared on instagram. So…if you’re on instagram, make sure you’re following along! I’ll post a Day in the Life Post on Wednesday, so some back to see that or subscribe by email!
