We had a wonderful weekend of celebrating the freedom we are privileged to enjoy as citizens of the United States of America and wishing our great country a Happy Birthday!
The weekend started out with Keith taking the girls to the zoo in Kansas City and then going to pick up his race packet for the 4 on the 4th Race he was running in on the 4th of July.
Keith had a great race on Saturday morning! This has become a 4th of July tradition for him. The kids and I cheered him on from home.
We had a great 4th of July celebration with a relaxing day at home, watching the National Hot Dog eating contest and a baseball game, enjoying a patriotic dinner complete with red, white and blueberry kabobs and homemade ice cream, and then going to see the fireworks display on post with neighbors.
We were so wiped out from being out late on Saturday that yesterday was spent resting and recovering. We are not late night people…at all.
Will has been working through an origami Star Wars book. This is Darth Paper.
Jenny found a new favorite snack…ants on a log. It’s been a hit with all of the kids over the last few days. Yay for fun, healthy snacks!!
How was your weekend? What did you do to celebrate the Independence Day?
