I’m bringing back a weekly post that I used to put up every Monday celebrating our weekend adventures. I’ve missed this post so much!!
Weekends are my favorite because it’s when we have the most fun whether we’re out exploring our city, or having quiet reading days at home.
That’s exactly what we did this past weekend. On Friday we had our first “Friday Night Dinner”, but on Saturday we decided to have a “hobby day”. Everyone spent the day working on various hobbies. Developing hobbies is an important part of our family life. I worked on catching up on this year’s Project Life spreads like it was my job!! And that work paid off with twelve weeks of Project Life scrapped by the end of the day. Now I only have eight more weeks until I’m caught up…and I’m super motivated to get them done!
Sunday was spent going to church and planning for the week ahead.
Here’s a glimpse of what our weekend looked like through the lens of my camera (or iPhone)…
On Friday I snapped a photo of the growing stack of books on my nightstand. I’ve read most of these and finally got around to actually boxing them up this morning. Now, I just need to decide which ones I’ll keep and which ones I need to pass along to a friend or the used bookstore.
After visiting the salon, I stopped by Starbucks for my first Peppermint Mocha of this holiday season! There was a sign taped to the drive-thru machine that they were out of red cups, but to my surprise and delight, I received my drink in a red cup…yay!!!
I pulled out the china and spent all afternoon slaving in the kitchen for our first “Friday Night Dinner”. It really is a joy to serve my family in this way! We had a great time enjoying dinner and conversation together and I went to bed utterly exhausted!
This is how every Saturday morning should begin! I’m currently reading The Witch Elm by Tana French and I spent Saturday morning reading with Cupcake sitting at my feet.
I also ended Saturday with reading after a long successful day of catching up on Project Life. EA and MC spent a lot of time reading as well.
Cupcake spent Sunday afternoon sleeping while I worked on lesson plans close by.
We recently got a bean bag chair for the living room and MC has especially enjoyed spending time relaxing and reading in it.
On Sunday nights Keith and I usually go out on a coffee date while the kids are in church programs. My favorite coffee shop is Fahrenheit 180 and I’ve made it a goal to become a regular there. In fact, I’m taking a baking class there tonight. They just updated their menu and it looks so good!! Keith and I usually opt for a delicious chocolate croissant along with our lattes.
I captured this image because I just love the patterns and texture while we were waiting to pick Jenny up from Mission Kids at church.
I hope you had a fantastic weekend filled with family, friends and all the things you love the most!
