Will has recently discovered the joy of running water. For some odd reason he loves the feeling of water running over his hands. I have found a way to make this oddity work to my advantage.
Many times when we are in the bathroom, Will tends to just get in the way. This especially happens when the girls are getting ready for bed. While I’m trying to help them get pull-ups and pajamas on and get their teeth brushed before bed Will is usually bumping around in the bathroom pulling and pushing and getting into all sorts of mischeief.
Tonight we were quickly getting ready for bed after our dinner guest left. It was already time for bed, so we skipped baths and were trying (okay, I was trying) to move through the bedtime routine quickly and painlessly. I put Will on a stool and let him “wash his hands” while I got the girls dressed and brushed their teeth.
Will was completely happy to stand on the stool and feel the water run over his hands while the girls got ready for bed in peace. Of course, there are no promises that this will help at all tomorrow. But it was the answer to all my problems for one night!

My Hannah Joy is the same way!! She loves running water. I let her bath water run longer than I would have to because while she’s got that running on her hands and giggling I am bathing her and washing her hair while she barely notices! 😉 Great little fix there!
