We have been bombarded lately with the plethora of acorns falling off the trees that surround our home.
On Saturday, three buckets full of them found their way into our backyard sandbox thanks to EA, MC, and their friend.
So, on Sunday after cleaning the majority of them out, my husband made a game for the kids to play to fish the others out.
They were assigned the task of digging around in the sand to find as many acorns as they could and put them in a bucket. For every acorn they found they were to be later rewarded with one M&M (the ultimate reward).
After gathering all the acorns, I guided Will and MC in counting their loot.
EA sat the game out, but she did help Will with his counting.
MC had forty-two acorns in her bucket and Will gathered twenty-eight, for a grand total of 70 acorns.
And that was after the majority had already been cleaned out!

No… but I LOVE this idea! Can I copy it?! We have a ton of nuts and such falling from the trees. They bring them inside and ask if they can plant them… I like this game much much better!!!
I hope you have a great iFellowship Day!

This is super cute! If I gave my daughter a piece of candy for every acorn she found in our yard, she’d be on a sugar high for a week! We have a huge acorn that drops TONS of acorns. Funny, I think when we PCS soon I’m going to miss those things! 🙂
