We have been lucky enough to live within driving distance of a Scholastic Warehouse for the last several years. One of our favorite things to do every fall and spring is to visit the Scholastic Warehouse Sale.
If you’re wondering if this is the actual warehouse of the same people that do the book fairs at schools, YES, it is!!
As a homeschool mom who is a former teacher, I missed my kids not experiencing the thrill of visiting the book fair. Thanks to the Scholastic Warehouse Sales, they don’t have to miss out.
My kids love visiting the warehouse sale because they know I will pretty much always say yes to buying books for them!
This spring sale came at a perfect time because tomorrow is our last day of school for this homeschool year. It was an exciting thing to do on our next-to-the-last day of school. (tomorrow I’m treating them all to ice cream)
I thought it would be fun to share with you what each of my kiddos came away from the Scholastic Warehouse Sale with. I did give them a limit of four books each going into the warehouse today. With these books and the Sonlight Summer Readers I ordered, they are set for summer reading!
MC (14 years old) chose: When by Victoria Laurie, Books 5 and 6 in The Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer, and Louisiana’s Way Home by Kate DiCamillo.
EA (14 years old) chose The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert M. Edsel, Wing and Claw in the Forest of Wonders series by Linda Sue Park and Refugee by Alan Gratz.
Will (11 years old) chose the DC Comics Superhero Society books Fort Solitude, Science Fair Crisis and Study Hall of Justice, Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid by Jeff Kinney, and The Last Kids on Earth and the Cosmic Beyond by Max Brailler and Douglas Holgate.
Jenny (8 years old) chose a set of four Puppy Place books, When the Butterflies Came by Kimberly Griffiths Little, The Steeplechase Secret from the Free Rein Series by Jeanette Lane, and When Friendship Followed Me Home by Paul Griffin.
The kids asked to have a reading day as soon as we came home and of course I was happy to say YES!
