Thank you so much for your prayers and comments over the last week.
Our family traveled to South Carolina to visit with family and attend the service for my husband’s brother.
We returned home on Saturday and took Sunday to rest and recuperate for the upcoming week.
I was amazed at the strength and peace that was with Darryl’s family during this time. It is a strength and peace that can only come from faith in God.
It is because of God, His faithfulness, His provision, and His love, that I was able to count blessings during a time of sadness.
This week I am thankful for…
116. Will strumming on his guitar during quiet time
117. prayers and condolences
118. the simple faith of my little girl
119. watching my husband hold our daughter as she sobs in his arms
120. hearing that my girls are “a joy” from their AWANA leader
121. receiving a pasta noodle necklace made by my Will in Cubbies
122. early morning conversations
123. my mom coming to our hotel to babysit Will and Jenny while Keith and I attend Darryl’s funeral service with Elizabeth Anne and Mary Catherine
124. a celebration of life
125. having church and remembering
126. greeting so many who came
127. seeing faith lived out in the example of a God honoring wife
128. visiting with my husband’s family
129. a day to rest and recuperate
130. hearing EA tell of a miracle God provided for her in a friend to play with
What are you thankful for this week?

Thoughts with you and your husband’s family. It was a blessing to see you take in the blessings among the sorrow, this is something I have begun to learn; with great loss in the last few years. Ann’s book has helped me even look back to the fall of 2008 and the loss of my own brother and see God’s mighty hand taking care of us through the journey. I pray your rest adnd recouperation will continue for your household.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss! It’s wonderful that you still have so many blessings! What a beautiful necklace!

What a sweet post. I know that our family’s strength is based on a true walking faith with our Lord. Franklin had commented during Darryl’s illness that he just didn’t wake up one day with his kind of strength, but he had been walking and living out his faith. We both know that when Darryl got to heaven, God said ” Well done, my good and faithful servant”. I am blessed to have the family I have…I was doubly blessed that I heard from both Scott and Keith on Sunday. They knew I was probably hurting from not being able to be there. I am thankful that I have the brothers, sister-in-laws, and parents that I have. I love you, and I can’t wait to see you in May. By the way, tell Will that Aunt Rachel loves the necklace he made for you!
