This season is one filled with so many mixed emotions.
Our family is counting down the days until we are all together again. We are excited and anxious and looking forward to so many good things coming our way. We are looking forward to moving back to El Paso and reconnecting with friends.
But we are also sad to say goodbye to friends that we’ve made here in Kansas.
At the same time, we have friends who are preparing to day goodbye to their husbands and fathers as they prepare for unaccompanied tours to Korea like the one Keith is completing and deployments.
We know the ups and downs they are experiencing.
When my friends hurt, I hurt with them.
This can be such an emotional time…a real life roller coaster. When I am faced with roller coaster emotions that are all over the place, the one thing that helps to keep me grounded is to count my blessings. It helps me to take a step back and realize that even when life hurts, there is still so much to be thankful for.
When I have struggled the most during the past year, keeping a gratitude journal kept me going.
And I know my hardest moments could have been made better by returning to this gratitude journal and intentionally remembering how very blessed I am.
Here are the blessings I am counting right now…
