Yesterday morning as my two girls came downstairs, so excited to wish me a happy Mother’s Day and give me the gifts that they had I was overcome with thankfulness.
These two children.
The two others soundly sleeping in their beds.
My husband sitting in the living room with me.
After the salvation and new life that has been so freely given to me, those four are my life’s greatest blessings.
MC handed me a gift she had hidden away under her bed all week. A placemat she sewed with her little child’s sewing machine that can barely put any stitches together. She called it a table cloth. Those crooked stitches represent such love.
All week long EA has been asking me if I wear bracelets. She’s wanted to look at the few bracelets I had in my jewelry box. When I unwrapped her gift I immediately knew why. It was a bracelet that was once hers, given over to bless her mommy’s heart.
These two love to give gifts.
Their gifts are given with pure love.
They get so excited about creating and giving to the ones they love.
They don’t have a dollar to their name. Well…except for the couple of silver dollars the tooth fairy has given to MC. But they don’t need money to give their gifts. They create and they give from what they have.
My mother’s heart is blessed by their simple gifts.
This week I’m counting…
203. three sisters sitting on the couch together
204. whispers of secret gifts hidden away
205. their last dance class
206. a date night…quiet uninterrupted conversation over seafood and frozen yogurt topped with goodies
