We had a wonderful Christmas this year celebrating the birth of our Savior.
As a family, we are settling into many of the traditions that we have established.
I love how my children are coming to expect certain events and look forward to them with anticipation.
There’s not a lot of stability that we have in this military move every couple of years life, but as parents we are learning how to create stability in our home by establishing special traditions for our family.
One tradition that we have is our Christmas Eve Party. I baked all weekend long in preparation for our little party…I probably went a little overboard, but that just adds to the fun of it all.
I ended up with quite the spread for our family to enjoy…in fact we’re still enjoying most of it!
We enjoyed our spread this year with a new treat…crock pot hot cocoa!!
We always enjoy our Christmas Eve treats while watching The Polar Express.
After the movie, the kids were settled into bed and I changed into comfy PJ pants and got busy with wrapping presents and prepping for Christmas day.
I’m making a new fashion statement with my sparkly red shirt and pj pants! I just love to be on the cutting edge…ha!
This is what our tree looked like on Christmas morning after a visit from Santa. We are truly blessed!
After enjoying a breakfast of Baked Nutella Doughnuts (yes, they were delicious!!!) I started prepping lunch while the kids began moving presents to their designated location.
It was quite the chore! We had four excited little ones running back and forth from the tree to the living room for quite some time.
The present I most looked forward to giving this year was this matted and framed print of Will training to be a Jedi at Disneyland.
He was both surprised and excited about this…just as I hoped he would be!
Another present my husband and I were pretty stoked about giving to our girls was this Barbie RV Camper.
We got it through a lightening deal sale on Amazon for just $10!!!! They were completely surprised and have already spent lots of time playing with it!
We ended our Christmas morning festivities with my husband giving his traditional gift of a candy cane and an orange in a brown paper sack to the children and I.
This serves as a reminder to be thankful for whatever we receive…even the smallest of gifts. We are very fortunate and blessed to be able to give and receive gifts during Christmas, but many are not. We desire for our children to always be grateful and to receive with thankful hearts…even if the only gifts they have are a simple candy cane and orange.
I pray that you all had a very Merry Christmas with your families!
What are some of your holiday traditions that you hold dear?

All of your treats looked so yummy! Loved your PJ’s. Next year, my husband and I will actually gift jammies to each other, not just our kiddos. We’ve never exchanged them before. Thanks for sharing your beautiful Christmas!
