We had a wonderful Easter weekend. I hope all of you did as well.
Yesterday afternoon the kids and I colored Easter eggs. This was the first time I’ve done that with them. And I’d say it was a success. In pure semi-type-A fashion, I controlled as much of it as I could. I purchased a simple Paas kit from our commissary for the egg dying. It came with neon paints and the girls really enjoyed painting their eggs with small sponges.
Each of the kids had three eggs of their own to decorate.
But, of course, Will was much more interested in trying to lick and bite into his egg.
All three of his ended up battered, bruised, and cracked because he attempted to throw and roll them on the floor. It didn’t work. Apparently he’s never heard of Humpty Dumpty.
I had a fun movie night with my friend, Carol, last night. And then stayed up way late preparing dinner for Easter, cleaning and getting our Easter clothes ready. But the time that saved from the morning was well worth it!
We had a nice Easter service at Chapel and enjoyed dinner with Carol.
We were both so stuffed!!! We had ham, macaroni and cheese, green beans, strawberry pretzel salad, deviled eggs, rolls, and an Easter cake decorated by Carol…YUMM!
The kids spent the afternoon playing while I rested on the couch. This is a luxury I only allow myself to enjoy on Sunday afternoons. And enjoy it, I did!
So, how did you spend your Easter weekend in celebration of Christ’s resurrection?
Oh, and can someone please tell me what is up with the four year old fake smile?

Your eggs turned out great! We were admiring your bright colors – we had the regular dip-them-in-the-bowl type dye, and they’re good but not that bright. 🙂
We had a great Easter too, although your post made me realize that we did not have any strawberry pretzel salad, and that is sad. 🙂

Your children look so nice! We went to church and spent the afternoon with my in-laws. Yesterday we dyed eggs. I like your idea of sponge painting.

About the fake smiles…do you remember seeing Keith’s preschool picture at Mother’s???? HA!!! They get it honestly. 🙂

We got up later than intended and missed the earlier service, so we went to the 11:00 service-then lunch at the dining facility :). We spent the afternoon eating chocolate, napping, Easter egg hunts and playing! My two baskets of laundry to be put away has now become three. That’s what happens when you take a day off, I guess!
I love the picture of the three together~so cute and coordinated.
