Monday was our first day of homeschool for the 2013-2014 school year.
I was all excited about sharing pictures with you, but then discovered that this blog had been hacked. I worked the past two days and now we’re finally back up and running!
I was so frustrated with the technical side of this blog that I was *this close* to quitting the whole thing. As I ranted and raved to my husband I threated to just delete everything once I got it fixed.
Of course, after everything was worked out, I realized just much I love this place. My life is here!
So, while it may get frustrating at times and I have my blogging ups and downs, I don’t think I could ever quit. I relate so much to what Elise Blaha wrote about in her post On Blogging and Moving Forward.
I love to write and share my life here!
So, this little kink in my blog this week has just served to motivate me to write and share more.
Now that that’s taken care of…(sorry about the little tangent)…let’s move on to our first day of homeschool.
After going away on a planning weekend retreat, I felt the most ready to start school this year than I ever have. And you know what??? I still got the first day of school jitters and didn’t sleep well on Sunday night before we started school.
I purchased a new school outfit for each of my “students” and some special new school supplies. These were sitting out on their desks as they came downstairs Monday morning.
Jenny was especially excited about her box of markers…I know markers in the hands of a three year old. I have officially lost it!
My husband was able to stay home a little later and enjoy a nice breakfast of Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast with us.
Yumm…it’s our favorite breakfast to celebrate the first day of school!
Before starting our school day, the kids all dressed in their new outfits and headed outside to take the obligatory first day of school pictures.
Our class pictures…
Meet my students…
Jenny is my three year old preschooler and she’ll be doing some read alouds, lots of coloring, and playing!
Will is my little first grader…so sweet!
EA will be doing 3rd grade this year.
And so will MC.
We’ve had a pretty good first week of school, but I have been reminded that their will be struggles along the way.
Homeschooling is not for the faint of heart.
It isn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination.
But having this time with my children, watching them learn and being instrumental in their learning both academically, spiritually, and personally, is so worth every bit of the struggle.

I love how Jenny’s sign is upside down in the first picture. So sweet.

My wife and i got very joyful Raymond could carry out his survey
from your precious recommendations he acquired through
the web site. It is now and again perplexing just to be giving
freely tricks which many people might have been selling.
And we fully grasp we have the blog owner to appreciate because of that.
The specific explanations you’ve made, the simple website menu, the friendships you help to create – it is everything powerful, and it’s helping our son and us understand this concept is excellent, which is pretty important.
Thanks for everything!
