Alicia at More Than Words is hosting Flashback Photo Friday so that we can share old(er) memories with each other. I am going to be participating each week by posting pictures from years past. I hope to be able to put up something from 2005 (the year my girls were born) to the past year that coincides to this week of the year. Does that make sense at all to you?
If not, you’ll figure it out…..
In August of 2005, the girls and I were living in a small apartment in SC. Keith was working in Ft. Campbell, KY, preparing for his first deployment to Iraq. I quickly learned raising twin girls in the tiny apartment by myself that I did not need two of every baby toy imaginable, I only needed a good variety so that I could rotate them around, but they still each had their favorites.
MC was a swing baby. She was so content swinging and listening to the music that her swing played.
EA, on the other hand, loved to be in the bouncy seat or her exersaucer. I had a small one for our apartment and Keith’s parents also had one for their house for when we came to visit.
In August of 2006, we were getting settled into our new house at Ft. Campbell and preparing for Daddy to come home from his first deployment to Iraq. The girls had a bookcase in their room and the bottom shelf had small baskets for toys. One morning as I peeked in at them playing, I found that they had climbed into these small baskets. Chubby little toddlers are soooo cute, aren’t they??
In August of 2007, we had moved again and were getting settled in our new stairwell apartment here in Germany. At this time, our stuff had not arrived from the states yet and we were using Army furniture, hence the ugly chair. Keith had to leave for training about 8 hours away a few days after we arrived in Germany and I just remember the days being soooo long caring for twin two year olds and an 8 week old baby!! But we survived as we always do.
And in August of 2008, it was just the kids and myself again as Keith was in Iraq again. We had just returned from a successful trip to the PX at Ramstein when this picture was taken. EA got a new baby doll out of our little excursion.
It has been so much fun taking a trip down memory lane with you!
Visit Flashback Photo Friday to see what others are reminiscing about this week and/or join in on the fun!

I had fun too!
Those are such cute pictures of them! It’s funny how you can have bright colored toys, but they will always be drawn to the simplest thing!!! I can imagine how hard it was during those times when your husband was away, but God totally sustained you through that time!!!
Thank you for sharing again!!

I love the way you do this carnival. It is so neat to see they way they grow each year. What fun! I also love looking back at baby pics and seeing how much they “look like themselves.” Do you know what I mean? I never saw EA and MC as babies, yet looking at their baby pictures, you can totally see their features in them. Make sense?
Also, I totally remember the shopping excursion last Aug…didn’t you blog about it? How fun to realize I’ve “known” you over a year now. 🙂

I love seeing the progression of the babies’ growth and your narration of life at each stage. Thanks so much for sharing the details with us.

I find myself saying this too often, but they grow fast don’t they? Oh, and you have my humblest admiration at doing the bulk of the twin rearing by yourself!

Aww, they are so PRECIOUS!!!
