From the moment we are born into this world of ours, this fallen world, we are growing.
We are growing up, growing out, growing into ourselves.
We grow from tiny little babies to toddlers, to little children, to adolescents, to young adults, to adulthood and beyond.
From the moment we are reborn into Christ’s family, accepting His gift of eternal life, we are growing.
We are growing in wisdom, in spiritual maturity, in love, growing into His likeness.
The growing in this physical world and in the spiritual world, produces change.
Hard change.
Deep change.
Necessary change.
Change that is glorious and beautiful.
My children are not the same babies that my eyes locked onto just moments after their emergence from the womb.
They are growing and changing before my very eyes.
I am not the same lonely, questioning, self-doubting little 13 year old girls that asked Jesus into my heart twenty-one years ago.
I have grown and changed in incredible, indescribable ways.
And I am far from finished…so far away from where I want to be, from where He wants me to be.
I am still growing and changing to be like the One that rescued me from my sin.
This post was written for 5 Minute Friday at The Gypsy Mama where we are challenged to write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
The topic of our writing this was was Growing.

I am so thankful that He loves me enough to not leave me where I am today. So thankful that I am continually growing into His likeness, so that I may fulfill His purpose here on this earth.

Hi there! Coming over from Gypsy Mama-you posted right after me for Five Minute Friday. I loved reading your words–very beautiful and very true. I loved considering what you said about how we’re never the same from the moment we are born. I was glad to be here today!
