Yes, Halloween was one week ago and I’m just getting around to posting our pictures.
With the exhaustion of my 31 Day series coming to an end, a blog site that has been wonky all week, and preparing for a visit from my mom (yay!!), that was just the best I could do.
We went with ver classic costumes this year…princesses and a super hero.
EA and MC got beautiful princess costumes from the Disney store. They were a bit of a splurge, but I got them on sale and they’ll probably be passed down to Jenny in a few years.
The details on these costumes were just so beautiful!
My little girls won’t be little forever and they won’t be trick or treating for much longer (I don’t think…when does that come to an end, anyway?).
Sometimes I just want to bottle up their innocence and excitement every life…every little thing still holds such wonder for my little girls and I want it to stay that way for as long as possible.
Jenny dressed up as Disney’s newest princess, Sofia. She’s a character on a Disney Junior show that Jenny loves!
I saw this costume at Target over a month before Halloween and I just knew it would be perfect for my little Jenny.
And it was.
We had a small Halloween party at our house the Saturday before Halloween and Jenny dressed in her complete costume…jewelry, earrings, crown, everything.
And then, of course, in true to threenager Jenny fashion, she refused to wear anything but the dress on Halloween night.
It just doesn’t get any more precious than this.
This girl has my heart.
Will started expressing an interest in dressing up as Captain America several weeks before Halloween and then while he was at a friend’s house we discovered that his friend had a Captain America costume that he could use.
It was a bit tattered and worn, but Will didn’t care about that one little bit.
He makes a great all-American super hero!
Here’s my little gang all together.
We went to a fall festival at church for a little while on Halloween night and then returned home to do come neighborhood trick-or-treating and greeting our neighbors.
We didn’t have nearly as many visitors as we thought we would have, but I won’t complain about living on a quiet street.
Nor will I complain about not having four full to the brim trick-or-treat buckets. I was able to combine everything into one bucket with lots of room left.
We did have lots of candy left over that I need to find something to do with. I’m thinking we’ll use it for our Operation Christmas Child boxes which we’ll be working on soon.

Very cute! We had Merida (complete with red curly wig and gold gladiator sandals) and a witch. The 3 year old did something pretty un 3 year old like and agreed to wear the witch costume we already had. Big Sister was supposed to wear it when she was 3 but it wasn’t a princess so she wouldn’t do it! Glad to get some use out of it 3 years later 🙂
