This week has been filled with distractions.
Distractions from my mission, my calling, and my heart’s desire.
My thoughts were caught up in the world this week.
They were filled with the cares of this world that are really only temporary.
Many of these things are good, but I have learned that even the good things can distract from the one thing that truly matters.
These worldly cares seep in and fill my mind, so that I’m not dwelling on Him and on His Word.
I am reminded this morning of the importance of being Here.
Here is living present in this moment.
Here is focused on living and enjoying my life…this wonderful life that God has go abundantly blessed me with.
My thoughts filled with His presence, thankful for His blessings, focused on and loving these little ones and the husband that He has given me are so much better, so much more pleasant than thoughts of this world.
Here is where I want to be.
Not there in the past reliving mistakes, sins, and hurts.
Here.
Not there in the world and the drama that it so easily stirs up.
Here.
Not in the future, dreaming, planning and maybe bemoaning what may be.
Here
Here in this moment, enjoying and living this wonderful life He has given is how I want to dwell.
Here.
Here in His Will, in His Care, in His Word, in His blessing is where my thoughts will be.
Here.

Such a good reminder to focus on Him, His Word and His blessings – I almost feel like it is a song! 🙂

What a fantastic reminder. Just what I needed with all of the drama going on.

Great reminders today. It is so easy to get caught up in what was, what could be, or what will be, and not really engage in what IS right now. But HERE is where the Lord put us and it’s so much better when we just recognize that.

Great post. I was particularly struck by the challenge not to dwell on the past or live in the future – both of which have cares of their own and escapes of their own. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases – his mercies are new every morning.
Lovely to meet you through FMF!

My thoughts constantly go astray, away from the hear, back to the past — to regret and what if’s, or to the future, to what might be. I strive hard to keep myself grounded here, in the now, in what He’s called me to do now.
