So, at some point during our visit home, I gave up on blogging. It was just too much to keep up with while trying to focus on spending time with my family.
Over the last week we enjoyed our last moments with my family and survived the long journey home.
We went to church with my parents last Sunday and my mom asked that we take some pictures of the grandkids together outside the church.
I love this shot of Jenny being silly with my daddy, her Papa. I’m sure it will make it’s way onto a scrapbook page soon!
It is so hard to capture six smiling little faces looking at the camera, but we gave it our best shot.
I really love the way this turned out!
We were up bright and early Monday morning and were on the road by 6 am after stopping by my parents’ house to say our goodbyes.
Our trip home to El Paso included some special events…we tried to make it as enjoyable as possible.
Some of the highlights included…
A stop by the mall in Birmingham.
The coolest McDonald’s ever in Vicksburg, MS. They serve grits, y’all!
Horrible traffic in Dallas! I have decided that this is one place I never, ever want to live.
A pizza and movie night in our hotel room in Dallas because there is no way we were venturing back out in that traffic for food!
We returned home on Wednesday afternoon and were greeted at the door by this sweet kitty who we all missed!
She was happy to see us and has been so playful and loving since we came home.
Keith had the rest of the weekend off before returning to work today. He was so good to spend some special time with the kids during this time.
He took Will hiking on Friday morning.
On Saturday morning he and MC went skateboarding.
And he enjoyed a shopping trip to the outlets with EA yesterday afternoon.
We’re enjoying being back home and getting back into our routines such as watching AFV on Sunday evening.
Watching AFV with a girl wearing a Spiderman mask and holding a Captain America shield and pistol…nothing odd about that at all! It’s just an ordinary Sunday night around here. And ordinary Sunday night that I cherish.
