As bloggers and social media savvy women, we have a tendency to compartmentalize what we do online and “in real life”.
The desire burns within me to go beyond that.
I want to be the same person online as I am in real life.
I want to have friends.
just friends
Not online friends and “in real life” friends.
The two are really just one when we are honest and transparent.
I cringe inside when I’m told that someone thinks I have it all together because they read this blog.
I cringe not because of offense, but because I know I am the furthest from having it all together that anyone can get.
I am flawed.
I am messy.
So is my house.
And my children.
So are we all.
I also have a desire to share positively in this spot that I have created here, my “home” online.
It is a hard balance to share the positive and be real and transparent at the same time.
A balance that I will continue trying to achieve.

An additional {beyond the 5 minutes} note….
Last weekend I received an e-mail from a friend.
An “online” friend, if you will, but really…just a friend.
A friend that I first met online, but that I have also met {at Blissdom} “in real life”.
A friend that I adore.
A friend that loves the Lord just as I do.
A friend that has a heart to share His word.
Anyway, this friend was going to be visiting family in my state and wanted to know if I was anywhere close to where she was going to be and if I was free.
The answers to both of those questions were a resounding, “YES!”.
We met somewhere in the middle for lunch/dinner and it was awesome to sit down and connect.
It was so exciting to have lunch with my friend.
Not necessarily with my online friend, but with my friend.
I am so thankful for the relationships I have developed through blogging.
Some are brand new relationships, with people I’m meeting for the very first time around the country, or even world.
Some are old relationships that are being rekindled.
And some are just current relationships with people that are in my present world.
Each of these relationships are unique and different, but every one of them is a huge blessing!

Friendships, such a blessing indeed!
Love your words and the reminder not to split our friendships into “real” and “online”. They are one and the same, just as our step and adopted children/siblings/parents are all real family.
