There is such a temptation and a desire in this life to see things as our own.
Our home, our clothes, our many possessions, our money, our time, our talents and passions.
We think that they belong to us to use as we see fit.
And, thus, we abuse and take so many of these things for granted.
We are so wrong in doing this because as we see in scripture, specifically in this verse, it is all His.
It is all His!
Every good and high and mighty thing that I am so tempted to take for granted or call my own belongs to my Father above.
Without God, there is no greatness, no power, no glory, no victory, no majesty…these are all His and His alone.
Knowing this…keeping this in mind throughout the day, makes me grateful for every gift that I receive from my Lord.
I look at life through a lens of thanksgiving when I realize that nothing is mine…it is all His to bestow and to use as He sees fit.
Today I am praying for remembrance…remembrance of who my God is and who I am in relation to Him.
I am His child and He loves me.
He provides for me and gives me good things to enjoy, BUT I am not God.
I am nothing and I have nothing apart from my LORD!
