Today I surprised myself by accomplishing a few very important tackles. So, for today’s Tackle It Tuesday, I’m giving you a bullet list instead of highlighting just one tackle.
- Baking – I baked a delicious loaf of Banana Nut Bread after seeing this recipe on Cooking Tip of the Day. It was very good and will be breakfast several days this week, I’m sure. Banana Nut Bread is such an easy bread to make and I usually have everything I need on hand. I should make it more.
- Shopping – We did our weekly commissary run this morning. I bought groceries for the entire week with three kids in tow. The girls are getting so much better about grocery shopping with me. They only asked for one additional item this week! And the entire time, EA kept repeating, “Mommy, I’m being a good girl today!” Yes, she really was. Oh, how they crave praise and positive attention.
- Cleaning – As I put away the groceries, I decided that the refrigerator could not wait a minute longer. I cleaned it out before loading new items into it. Now everything in there is nice and fresh.
- Finances – I balanced our checkbook and paid off bills tonight. Monday is my regular paperwork day to it was necessary. I always feel such a sense of accomplishment when the checking account balances the first time…YAY!
- E-mail – I cleaned out my inbox…big WOO HOO! Currently, there is only one message sitting in my inbox and it’s for an online homeschooling magazine, Homeschool Today, that I’m hoping to read through tomorrow.
- More Shopping – I purchased several gifts for upcoming family holidays tonight. With the mail system here, you really have to be on the ball….I do miss having packages arrive at my door just a few days after ordering. Here, it usually takes at least two weeks.
Oftentimes, when I’m going through the day, it doesn’t feel like I’m accomplishing one single thing, but looking back on today I feel pretty good about what I was able to do. And I see why I am so tired!

Personally I am quite impressed!! The cleaning out of the inbox is the one that always gets me bogged down. I always read my email and take WAY too long to respond.

I love the shopping experience! The Girl and I go through that quite frequently lately. I have started promising to stop by Starbucks on the way home to get her a box of horizons organic chocolate milk (the sugar in those things is ridiculous) if she is good. I am usually asked thirty times “am I being good?” she does get frustrated when she is told “so far.”
Way to go on all your tackles this week!

Congratulations! I hope my tackle list soon changes from “unpacked another box” to fun things like baking. We are off to do the shopping after lunch. I think I am ready for the BIG trip to stock the pantry. I realized last week how much I miss cooking. Not the “open the prepackaged meal and throw it in the oven” cooking that I hanve done for the past couple of weeks (although that definitely has its place in my life), but true make it myself cooking.
