I’ve been craving my favorite drink, Diet Coke, all night long but was busy doing other things until now. So, I just went in and poured a glass and I’ll drink it while I share some random thoughts from my day with you.
Now that this deployment is coming to an end, I’ve become rather reflective and quiet. I’m thinking a lot about this past year…the things I’ve learned, the value of friendship…true friendship, regretting the mistakes I’ve made, and reveling in the successes. I’ve found myself spending less time on the computer and with the TV or radio on. I’m desiring quietness so that I can think and process. So, if I’m not commenting and/or writing as much, that’s why.
I made banana nut bread first thing this morning. I LOVE baking. I felt like such a homemaker with bread baking in the oven this morning. I really have been wanting to tackle some real homemade bread…maybe tomorrow.
I made the BLT Pizza from my menu plan tonight and OH MY GOODNESS, it was GOOD!! BLTs are my favorite sandwich, so I shouldn’t be too surprised that I liked it so much. This recipe is definitely going into my favorites! I think (really hope) Keith will like it too. The girls did…it is so much fun to hear them rave about a dinner I’ve spent time on. Not that I really spent a lot of time on this one, it was really easy!
The girls had their fifth night of Bowlopolis tonight. It is amazing how much they have improved since their first night of bowling. MC is actually getting pretty good and EA, well…she is getting the bowling ball to the end of the lane all by herself! And that is quite an accomplishment. We’re planning to take their daddy bowling when he comes home…it should make for some fun family time.
Okay, my glass is empty, so I’m off to bed. Nope, caffeine doesn’t effect my sleep. It must be a sure sign of someone that NEEDS some desperately!
Goodnight!

It is crazy to me when I see your status on twitter and realize how far apart we are time zone wise… I am prepping dinner right and you are snuggling up for bed! I am glad the LONG deployment is coming to an end for you all. I remember when I first starting reading you last year I e-mailed to ask how long Keith would be gone and when he left and you replied that he just left and it would be 15 mths! My heart went out to you. And to think that time is almost done. Praise the Lord! I hope that the remaining time passes quickly and you are able to do all you want to prepare for his homecoming. Thank you and Keith and the kids for the sacrifices you made on our behalf this past year. I don’t take it lightly. I am indeed very grateful!

God Bless You all for your sacrifices. I can’t imagine how it will feel to have one another to love, hold, and cuddle again. I’ll be thinking of you.

I love banana nut bread when it is hot and fresh out of the oven. Now you have me wanting some and we are trying to watch our calories! Every summer I try to make some for the local fire and police dept.
