There’s nothing better than starting the new year off right with a plan for our family meals! I’m starting to get into a routine with some things around here. Sunday is going to be my planning day for making our weekly menu, shopping list, and getting groceries. Keith will be working on Sundays with his new job, so we’re going to plan our big dinner for Saturday and have leftovers for him to take on Sundays. It’s a bit different, but I think it will work out great for us.
Monday – Rosemary Dijon Pork Chops and Oven Potatoes
Tuesday – Chicken Enchilada Casserole
Wednesday – Leftover buffet
Thursday – Chicken Stir Fry
Friday – Double Cheese Chili
Saturday – Oven Beef Roast; Rice; Rolls
Sunday – leftovers
If you’ve never planned out a menu for your family, I would strongly urge you to give it a try. There’s so many ways to do it and still remain flexible. You can do weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly menu plans and anything in between. But I have found that just having a plan in place eliminates so much stress!

You are so good! You’ve inspired me to be good and plan our menu every week this year, so we don’t end up in a take out rut that has been draining our “see Europe” fund.

I can testify– I LOVE IT now that I’ve planned meals!! I’ve been doing a weekly meal plan since Nov, and it actually saves me $20-$30 on my weekly grocery bill because I’m only buying what I will need that week! It DOES take off stress– and I don’t always cook in the order I planned, or on the days I plan, but it gives me a starting point– and helps me not serve spagetti 4 times a month until my hubby is SICK of spagetti. 🙂 Monica— It took 6 months of reading your yummy menus every week to move my rear into gear. 🙂 But WHAT a blessing it’s been since I got in gear!! I love you friend!!! 🙂
