This week I’m counting…
463. baby talking to her daddy on the phone…smiling big
464. new week of activities
465. my four blessings all lined up on the couch
466. homemade doughnuts for breakfast
467. toddler reading a book in her room – it’s almost as big as she is!
468. losing her first top tooth
469. enjoying a night out with my husband—his hard work to make it happen
470. little hands patting Mommy’s back
The hardest thing for me in naming and counting my blessings each week is in actually writing them down throughout the week.
Many weeks, like this one, I’m sitting down at the end of the week remembering the blessings, looking back and reminiscing about our week and writing them down as I remember.
I want to do more writing down in the moment and pausing throughout my day to count.

I love the photo of reading a book! What fun! The doughnuts look great too.

Loved all the beautiful children photos! I adore it when all four of ours sit together on the couch – I have a video (before the fourth was born) and the 3 girls are bouncing away against the couch. Moments like those are priceless. I too need to learn to write as the thanksgivings happen. Haven’t reached that point yet 🙂

I forgot – do you mind sharing the doughnut recipe? They looked scrumptious and I have the new stand mixer ready 🙂

Your family is adorable!! And those doughnuts have me wanting some! 🙂 I do some writing in the moment, but like you hope to do more. I reflect back on my week and write them down like you do. It is nice to think about the good moments of the week that way!

Your children are absolutely adorable! Love the one of our daughter in the big blue chair.
I started over counting my gifts today, taking the Joy Dare with Ann and others. Writing them down is the hardest. I too often find myself trying to remember my gits at the end of the week. But as I get older and my memory just doesn’t recall those seemingly small ones, I have decided I will put my iPhone to good use and use the One Thousand Gifts App to record them. Might even take a picture or two along the way!
Blessings my friend!

I commented on your Joy Dare post, but just wanted to add here that I think it’s wonderful that you’re starting over and counting again! I thought of doing the same…I never made it to a thousand last year. I’m sure your iPhone will come in handy with remembering!

Rejoicing with you in your many blessings this week. I can already see that your third and fourth children have a special thing going. “The only place we have to see before we die is the place of seeing God. And His presence is everywhere for those who slow to see.”
Monica says
Yes, my third and fourth do have a special bond with one another, which is neat because the first two are twins who came with a special bond.

How were the donuts? I used a sur la table gift card last week and bought a donut pan and two mixes (blueberry with glaze and pumpkin with glaze).
Monica says
The doughnuts were delicious! I used a recipe that had nutmeg and cinnamon in it, so it was a different taste. I topped them with a cinnamon & sugar mixture. The blueberry with glaze mix sounds yummy!!! Oh, I did find that the trick to getting the batter into the donut pans is to use a ziplock bag with the corner cut off. My husband gave me pans for Christmas. I hope you enjoy yours!!!

I finally made the donuts! They were really good. I definitely recommend the Stonewall Kitchen Blueberry donut mix if you want a quick mix sometime. Not really cheap at $9.95 (might be cheaper on Amazon?) but a good treat every now and then.

I’ve been sort of doing gratitude moments (I called them “Where’s God?” moments and then I discovered Ann’s blog …) but I found that leaving it until the end of the week, I actually FORGOT some of the moments that I made a mental note to write down and I wouldn’t remember until later. It’s sad how swiss-cheesy my memory is 🙂

Love your sweet list – lost tooth and all – but girl those donuts look scrumptious! I normally document blessings and thankfulness in my journal, but I think I need to be more intentional! Blessings this week.

I have a little notebook that I keep on my bedside table. I try to remember each night to write down those things that for which I am grateful throughout the day before I go to bed. I certainly don’t remember every night but most.

Love you pictures – especially the toddler reading. Precious!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Jumped over from 1000 gifts.
