I mentioned earlier this week that I have chosen one {little} word to focus on this year.
The concept came from Ali Edwards, who has chosen one little word and written about it on her blog since 2007.
This isn’t a resolution or a goal for the new year, but it’s a focus point, something to work towards, to be an overarching theme throughout the year.
My word for this year is Enjoy.
This word came to be rather quickly and it just seemed to fit.
I know that we have at least one move coming up this year…possibly even two. I also know that this year is going to have it’s challenges and hurdles to cross.
But through it all I want to enjoy my life.
I want to enjoy my relationship with God.
I want to enjoy love.
I want to enjoy my marriage.
I want to enjoy my home.
I want to enjoy now…this present moment.
I want to enjoy parenting my children.
I want to enjoy being me.
I want to enjoy doing {all that I do}.
I want to enjoy my friends.
I want to enjoy my family.
I want to enjoy my hobbies…blogging and scrapbooking.
I want to enjoy growing and stretching.
I want to enjoy the small everyday moments.
I want to enjoy the memories that will be made.
To help me truly get the most out of this exercise, I am taking Ali’s One Little Word class at Big Picture Classes.
Throughout the class I will be making an album focusing on my word.
Here is the cover page for that album:
Every Wednesday here at DailyDwelling I’ll be sharing something about my word. It may be an explanation of why I chose this word, how I’m focusing on it, something I’ve made in the class, or just an inspiration that’s helping me to keep this word at the forefront of my mind.
I’ve started a pinterest board for my word, Enjoy that you can follow. I’ll also be sharing some of my pins from there.
There’s a button in my sidebar that you can click on that will take you to all of my One Little Word Wednesdays posts.
Because I want all that I do to be scripture-focused, I have found a scripture to be my theme for the year that also encompasses my one little word, “Enjoy”.
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
~1 Timothy 6:17
God richly provides us with everything to enjoy…and my heart’s desire is to truly ENJOY all that he has provided me with!

My OLW is “perspective” and I’ve tried finding stuff on Pinterest and there isn’t much on there, but I didn’t try too hard. 😉 Good luck with your word!

My OLW this year is simple. I have a tendency to make things way too complicated. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with your word this year!

My word for 2012 is love. Intentional love.
I really like the idea of starting a pinterest board for your word. I think I’ll do the same. 🙂
